Agriculture
The agri-food sector is one of Ireland’s most important indigenous manufacturing sectors, accounting for significant employment as well as being the cornerstone of many other sectors. The Centre for Applied Bioscience Research have worked with a range of companies in Ireland to help support them in their R&D requirements in the Agriculture sectors.
The Agriculture sector plays a pivotal role in Irish and global supply chains. The expansion of the global population will continue to put pressure on agricultural outputs, demanding more from less, but doing so in a sustainable way. The bioeconomy has a significant part to play in addressing this. Innovative use of bioresources and co-products, improved processing methods and cross-sectoral collaboration are all essential for a functional bioeconomy.
The Centre for Applied Bioscience Research can support the Agricultural sector through a range of capabilities:
- Analytical expertise (LC-MS, AA, ICP-MS, HPLC, GC-MS)
- Plant growth chambers
- Plant biostimulant expertise
- Optimal use of bioresources
