Industrial processes can cause significant harm to the environment, however there can be many approaches that companies can take to mitigate or remove this impact. The Centre for Applied Bioscience Research works with companies to help to determine the practical approaches that may achieve this.
Environmental impact can take place at all stages of the production process:

- Outputs
Companies can address their environmental impact at all stages through replacement of input materials, chemicals used in processes, and better utilisation of by product outputs. In order to achieve this in a way that doesn’t impact their commercial sustainability, these solutions need to be identified and tested, prior to implementation. The Centre for Applied Bioscience Research and the wider Technology Gateway network can assist companies through this process.
