Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS) Instrument
→ Funded by Enterprise Ireland
→ Available at CABR for industry collaborations
→ Manufactured by Agilent
This equipment is applied in many sectors, including pharmaceutical and food testing, as well as environmental analysis, and helps provide information about the molecular weight, structure, identity, and quantity of specific sample components. It is particularly useful for individuals working in roles such as analytical chemists and quality control scientists.
Some of the ways CABR can use LC/MS instrument include:
→ Peptide mass fingerprinting to analyze proteins or peptides
→ Detection of residual chemical compounds in various sample types
→ Confirmatory identification of small organic molecules
Key advantages of the LC/MS instrument include (but are not limited to):
→ Providing molecular weight and structural information for sample components
→ Confirming and quantitating contaminants in samples with precision
→ Enabling toxicology screening and detection of specific compounds
