Marine@UGent South Korea Visit at CABR

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Marine@UGent at CABR as part of their research and innovation collaboration tour of Ireland 🇮🇪.

We were especially delighted to welcome Professor Taejun Han and Dr. Hojun Lee, global leaders in marine biotechnology, specializing in seaweed cultivation and biobased product development. Their expertise made for insightful discussions, and we were proud to showcase CABR’s research capabilities, particularly our work with marine bioresources.

At CABR, we have been collaborating with seaweed companies for over a decade, applying seaweed and seaweed extracts across multiple industries, including Food, Feed, Cosmetics, Agriculture, Healthcare, and Biotechnology. Additionally, we bring extensive expertise in working with microalgae and fish waste bioresources, which are core research areas at the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research.

A huge thank you to Ghent University Global Campus and the Marine Institute for visiting & looking forward to future collaborations!

PS. Did you know? Ireland’s seabed territory is 10 times larger than its landmass!

The CABR Technology Gateway is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-27.
